The App Store text of TROME 1.0, ready to paste
This page holds every text that you paste into App Store Connect and TestFlight for TROME 1.0, in French and in English, with the limit of its field and its size. The release guide says where each field is and when to fill it in. This page says what goes in it.
French comes first, because most riders are French: paste the French text in the primary language, then the English text. Apple counts characters for every field below except the keywords and the review notes, which it counts in bytes: an accented letter such as é takes two bytes. The limits are those of Apple’s help pages, read on 7 October 2026: Platform version information and App information. The sizes below are counted by script on the texts as they stand, so count again after any edit.
The store title: three to try, in order
Section titled “The store title: three to try, in order”The title is the first thing a rider reads, and its limit is 30 characters.
The exact title TROME is probably refused: two apps already carry the word, a Peruvian newspaper and a hospital group in India, and App Store Connect refuses a name that another app holds.
So the title is TROME, a dash, and a few words that say what it is.
The name under the icon stays TROME, because it is another field that the store does not check.
Try the candidates in this order, and take the first that App Store Connect accepts. Apple’s public search (read on 7 October 2026) shows no app with these titles, and no transit app with the word. It cannot see a name that an unreleased app record holds, so only App Store Connect settles it.
| Try | French (primary) | English (U.S.) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | TROME – Métro et RER Paris (26) |
TROME – Paris Metro & RER (25) |
| 2 | TROME – Prochains trains Paris (30) |
TROME – Next Paris Trains (25) |
| 3 | TROME – Prochains passages (26) |
TROME – Next Metro & RER (24) |
The first title says the two things that a Paris rider types in the search: the network and the city.
Other apps say the same in their titles, for example Métro Paris & RER and Paris Metro, RER & Offline Map, so no word of it belongs to one app, and the dash and TROME make the whole title yours.
The third title has no RER and no city: keep it for a refusal of a word.
The title never carries the name of RATP or of Île-de-France Mobilités: the source line at the end of the description is the only place for them.
The subtitle and the promotional text: the first screen of the page
Section titled “The subtitle and the promotional text: the first screen of the page”A rider who scrolls the store reads the title, the subtitle and the first screenshots, then the promotional text.
Both languages say the same facts: where TROME works, what it shows, and that it is free with no account and no ads.
The subtitle is a phrase on purpose, because Apple calls it one, and the promotional text is two full sentences.
The promotional text and the first sentence of the description show one after the other, so they say two things: the promotional text says who TROME is for and what the rider no longer has to do, and the first sentence of the description says what TROME is for.
The promotional text names the metro and the RER in a full sentence, because titles 2 and 3 have no RER, and whichever title App Store Connect accepts, the top of the store must still say it.
Neither names the notification or the way in, because version 1 needs one tap: the block “Quand les trains s’affichent” / “When the trains show” tells it once.
Subtitle, French (26 of 30 characters):
Sur votre écran verrouilléSubtitle, English (30 of 30 characters):
Next trains on the lock screenPromotional text, French (166 of 170 characters):
Si vous prenez le métro ou le RER en Île-de-France, TROME vous évite de chercher les horaires et de choisir une station. Elle ne coûte rien : ni compte, ni publicité.Promotional text, English (149 of 170 characters):
If you ride the metro or the RER in Île-de-France, TROME saves you from looking up times and picking a station. It costs nothing: no account, no ads.Apple lets you change the promotional text at any time, with no new version.
The description
Section titled “The description”Only its first lines show before more, so the first paragraph is the pitch: three full sentences that say what the rider gets, the honest limit of the place, and the price. The first sentence matters most, because it is the one that every rider reads. The rest is made of full sentences too, and only the bullets are phrases, because they list things. Each block below is a section with its own heading line, because the store shows plain text, and its paragraph is one line, so that the store wraps it. The writing guide says how marketing text reads.
French (2188 of 4000 characters):
English (1916 of 4000 characters):
On your lock screen, TROME shows the next trains at the station where you are, in both directions. TROME is for Paris and Île-de-France only. It is free, with no account and no ads.
What you see• The next trains of each direction, with their destination (on lines with branches too) and the minutes to wait.• To move to the next line of the station, tap the station name.• All of this shows on the lock screen, and in the Dynamic Island on iPhones that have one.
When the trains showTROME detects the station when you are within about 150 meters, so there is no station to pick. While the app is open, the trains show when you arrive. When the app is closed, a notification tells you: one tap shows the trains. When you walk away from the station, the trains disappear. If you do not want the trains right now, snooze TROME for 30 minutes, 1 hour or the rest of the day, from the lock screen.
Your position stays on your iPhoneTROME uses it to find the nearest station. It never leaves the iPhone: I never receive it. To work while the app is closed, TROME asks for Always location. If you refuse, TROME still works while the app is open.
Good to know• TROME covers the metro (lines 1 to 14, 3bis and 7bis) and the RER (A to E). It shows no bus, no tram, no trip planner and no traffic news.• Outside Île-de-France, only “See an example” works: it shows Châtelet, with sample times.• The times follow the metro and RER service: at night, when the trains stop, nothing shows. A difference of a minute or two with the platform screen is normal.• TROME runs on iPhone with iOS 18 or later, in French and in English.
Train times: ‘Prochains passages’ of Île-de-France Mobilités (PRIM), under the ‘Licence Mobilités’. Stations: adapted from Île-de-France Mobilités data, under the ODbL and the Licence Ouverte v2.0. TROME is not an app of RATP or of Île-de-France Mobilités, and neither of them supports it.The keywords
Section titled “The keywords”Apple reads the title, the subtitle and the keywords for search, and not the description. So no word below repeats title 1 or the subtitle, and none is the name of another app or company. Write them with a comma and no space after it. A line may break inside a word on the page: that is only the display, and the copy button copies the line whole.
French (99 of 100 bytes):
horaires,prochains passages,train,transport,quai,station,attente,Île-de-France,activité en directEnglish (92 of 100 bytes):
subway, transit, departures, schedule, platform, station, commute, wait, live activity,Ile-de-FranceThe French keywords above fit title 1.
Titles 2 and 3 already carry some of them, and a word that is in the title adds nothing in the keywords, so its bytes are wasted.
Those two titles also lack métro and RER, which title 1 has, and title 3 lacks Paris.
When App Store Connect accepts title 2 or 3, paste the French keywords below instead.
The English keywords repeat no word of any English title, so they stay.
French keywords for title 2, Prochains trains Paris (94 of 100 bytes):
horaires,passages,transport,quai,station,attente,Île-de-France,activité en direct,métro,RERFrench keywords for title 3, Prochains passages (97 of 100 bytes):
horaires,train,transport,quai,station,attente,Île-de-France,activité en direct,métro,RER,ParisCategory, age rating, price and territories
Section titled “Category, age rating, price and territories”| Field | Answer |
|---|---|
| Primary category | Navigation: it is where the transit apps of Paris sit, and where a rider who wants the next trains looks. |
| Secondary category | Travel: it fits a visitor, and it costs nothing. |
| Age rating | Answer None or No to every question: no user content, no web browser in the app, no messaging, no ads, no purchase, no mature content, and no gambling. The two rows that open the privacy and help pages open Safari, outside the app. The result is 4+. |
| Made for Kids | Not Applicable, as the release guide says. |
| Price | Free, with no in-app purchase and no ads. |
| Territories | All Countries or Regions, with no geographic block: the app shows nothing useful outside Île-de-France, and the first lines of the store text say so. |
| Copyright | The year and your legal name, for example 2026 Your Name, without the © sign. |
The addresses
Section titled “The addresses”TROME has one public address for every contact, and a site on its own domain.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Support URL | https://trome.valfur.fr/fr/support/ (French), https://trome.valfur.fr/en/support/ (English) |
| Privacy Policy URL | https://trome.valfur.fr/fr/privacy/ (French), https://trome.valfur.fr/en/privacy/ (English) |
| Developer website, and the optional Marketing URL | https://trome.valfur.fr/ |
| Email of the App Review contact | contact@trome.valfur.fr |
| TestFlight feedback email | contact@trome.valfur.fr |
The seller on the store page is your legal name, because the account is an individual one. The release guide, step 1, explains the question about the European Union trader status.
What App Review reads: the contact and the notes
Section titled “What App Review reads: the contact and the notes”App Review rarely sits in Paris, so the notes tell the reviewer how to see the Live Activity from anywhere.
| Field | Text |
|---|---|
| Sign-in required | Off: TROME has no account. |
| Contact first name, last name and phone | Yours, given at the submission. Never write them in a file of the repo: the phone goes in the international format, with a plus sign and the country code. |
| Contact email | contact@trome.valfur.fr |
| Notes | The English text below (3162 of 4000 bytes). Apple accepts any language, and English is the one that every reviewer reads. |
| Attachment | The recording of the real station, as the recording script says. |
I make TROME alone. It shows the next metro and RER trains at the station where you are, as a Live Activity on the lock screen. It works in Paris and Île-de-France only, so review it from anywhere with the example row below. No account, no sign-in, no purchase, no ads, no tracking. iPhone only, iOS 18 or later.
TO REVIEW FROM ANYWHERE (about 2 minutes, nothing to set up):1. Open TROME. iOS asks for your location. After "Allow While Using App", it asks for "Always", then for notifications. After "Allow Once", it asks only for notifications, up to a minute later. After "Don't Allow", it asks neither. If the question does not show, tap Continue in the Location row. Any answer is fine: the example needs none of them. Outside Paris, the top card says "Nothing on the lock screen" and some rows are orange because a permission is missing. This is normal, and the example works.2. On the main screen, tap "See an example". A Live Activity for Châtelet appears, with SAMPLE times made inside the app (no position, no network). Press the side button to lock the iPhone: it shows on the lock screen, and in the Dynamic Island on iPhones that have one. The first time, iOS asks under it "Allow Live Activities from TROME?": tap Allow. If you tap Don't Allow, the top card says "Live Activities are off": tap Open Settings (or go to Settings > Apps > TROME), turn on Live Activities, then tap "See an example" again. Lock the iPhone again: iOS may then ask a second question under the Live Activity. Tap Always Allow.3. The sample times count down while the app runs. If the lock screen says "Open the app", open TROME or tap "See an example" again: the sample starts again from that moment, for 5 more minutes. The example ends 10 minutes after you last tapped "See an example" or opened TROME.4. On the lock screen, tap the station name to see the next metro or RER line of this station. The buttons 30 min, 1 h and Today snooze the automatic mode (on the example, they only end it).5. On the main screen: the Automatic mode switch, the Snooze row, the Location and Notifications rows, "Privacy policy" and "Help and feedback" (they open web pages in Safari).
HOW IT WORKS IN REAL USE (I recorded the attached video at a Paris station, on a real iPhone):- Within about 150 meters of a metro or RER station, with the app open, the Live Activity starts with real times.- With the app closed, iOS wakes TROME near a station. TROME sends a local notification, and one tap starts the Live Activity. This is why I ask for "Always" location: the app is closed when people arrive. With "While Using" only, the app still works while it is open.- The position is used on the iPhone to find the nearest station. It is never sent to my server. The server gets only the identifier of a stop.- Notifications are local, and optional.
TRAIN DATA: real times come from the PRIM service of Île-de-France Mobilités, through my server, which is running during the review. Metro and RER do not run all night: outside service hours there are no real times, but the example works at any hour. When the server cannot be reached, the lock screen says "Times unavailable".Check each line of these notes against the build that you submit: make run RELEASE=1 runs the app as the store ships it in the Simulator, with no Testing tools.
The bullet about the closed app waits for the proof on a real iPhone: see the clause that waits for the proof.
Keep the sentence about the video only when the video is attached, and keep the sentence about the server only while it runs.
TestFlight: what the first external testers read
Section titled “TestFlight: what the first external testers read”Apple’s pages (Provide test information and Enter test information), read on 7 October 2026, make the beta app description and a feedback email required for external testers, and give no limit for any of these fields. So each text stays under 1,000 bytes, which fits any limit of 1,000 bytes or more. Each text says in its first sentence that TROME works in Paris and Île-de-France only, and is written in full sentences, as the description is. The feedback email is contact@trome.valfur.fr, the address of every contact.
Beta app description, French (287 bytes):
Beta app description, English (246 bytes):
TROME is for Paris and Île-de-France only: on your lock screen, it shows the next trains at the station where you are. Anywhere else, you can try “See an example”. This is a test version, free and with no account, and your feedback helps me.What to test, French (995 bytes):
Vous pouvez aussi m’écrire à contact@trome.valfur.fr.What to test, English (780 bytes):
For Paris and Île-de-France only. Three things to try:1. From anywhere: open TROME, tap “See an example”, then lock the iPhone. Châtelet shows on the lock screen, with sample times.2. At a real Paris station: allow location “Always” and notifications, then come within 150 meters. With the app open, the trains show when you arrive. With the app closed, a notification should tell you: one tap shows them. If nothing comes, tell me.3. Not now: on the lock screen, tap “30 min”, “1 h” or “Today”. On the example, they only end it.
Good to know: there is no account to create, and trains show only during the metro and RER service hours.A problem? Take a screenshot: TestFlight offers to send it to me. You can also write to me at contact@trome.valfur.fr.TestFlight shows the text in the language of the tester’s iPhone, and falls back to the primary language.
What 1.0 says to riders, outside the store
Section titled “What 1.0 says to riders, outside the store”The first version of an app has no What’s New field.
The 1.0 lines are on the site, in the pages Nouveautés and What’s new, and in CHANGELOG.md: they are the one source of the notes of the version, and they are not pasted in the store.
What the text must not say
Section titled “What the text must not say”Each line below is a claim that the app cannot keep, or a risk with App Review, so a rewrite of the text keeps away from it.
- No
RATP,IDFMorÎle-de-France Mobilitésoutside the source line. The rules of App Review forbid the mark of others, in the title, the subtitle and the keywords above all, and the source line shows the data credit that the licence asks for and the sentence that TROME is not their app. - No promise of times for every line. The source lists only the next three or four trains of a stop, and the times follow the service hours, so the text says “the next trains”, never “live times for every line”.
- No promise of a start with no tap. Version 1 has no silent start: a closed app sends a notification, and one tap brings the Live Activity.
The first sentences say what the rider gets, and the notification is named once, in the block “Quand les trains s’affichent” / “When the trains show”.
Only a real iPhone at a station shows that iOS wakes the closed app, so see the notification come on your iPhone before you paste any text that says it comes.
Until you have seen it, the public What’s new pages and
CHANGELOG.mdsay nothing about the closed app: the clause that waits for the proof is not in them. - No headline that says a notification pops up. The notification is the way in of version 1, not what TROME is.
- No claim outside Paris. The app is not blocked elsewhere, but it shows nothing useful there, except the example, so the first lines name the limit.
- No claim about the battery, and no
real time. Nobody measured the first, and the second promises more than the source gives.
The closed-app clause that waits for the proof
Section titled “The closed-app clause that waits for the proof”Five places hold the claim that a closed app sends a notification as a line of text for the store or for the notes of a version: the description, the review notes, the TestFlight text, the What’s new pages and CHANGELOG.md.
The store texts above carry it already, and you check them before you paste.
The What’s new pages and CHANGELOG.md go online with the site, so they carry it only after the proof.
When the notification has come on a real iPhone at a station, add the clause to the 1.0 line of each of the three.
In fr/whats-new.mdx, the line reads:
App ouverte, les trains s’affichent à votre arrivée à une station ; app fermée, une notification vous prévient : touchez-la, et ils s’affichent. In en/whats-new.mdx and CHANGELOG.md, the line reads:
With the app open, the trains show when you arrive at a station; with the app closed, a notification tells you, and one tap shows them. When it did not come, or not every time, remove the closed-app sentences from the other three places instead, and leave the What’s new line as it stands:
- the description, French and English: the block “Quand les trains s’affichent” / “When the trains show” keeps only its sentence about the open app, and the permission sentence “Pour fonctionner quand l’app est fermée” / “To work while the app is closed” goes, with the sentence that follows it;
- the review notes: the bullet about the closed app;
- the TestFlight text: step 2 of “What to test” says only what happens with the app open.
More pages tell the way in as how the app works, with the steps and the permissions: README.md, the two home pages, the two Help pages and the two Privacy pages.
Each tells it once, in one place: the bullet “How the trains show” of README.md, the section “Comment les trains arrivent sur l’écran verrouillé” or “How the trains reach your lock screen” of each home, the section “Rien ne vient quand TROME est fermé” or “Nothing comes when TROME is closed” of each Help page.
The permission steps and the notification answers sit next to them: the Help sections on Always and on notifications, and the permission steps of the install tutorial.
The Privacy pages tell it in one sentence, in the section “Votre position” / “Your position”: “Avec l’accès Toujours, iOS prévient TROME quand vous arrivez près d’une station, même quand l’app est fermée.” / “With Always access, iOS tells TROME when you come near a station, even when the app is closed.”
They stay while the proof is open, because a rider who has the app needs the steps to find why nothing comes.
When the notification did not come, rewrite them from what the proof found, in the same change as the three places above, since they say that the app does what it does not.
Sentences to change when the Live Activity starts by itself
Section titled “Sentences to change when the Live Activity starts by itself”Version 1 brings the Live Activity to a closed app with one notification and one tap. The day it starts with no tap, edit these sentences, and only these:
- the description, French and English: the block “Quand les trains s’affichent” / “When the trains show”, and the permission sentence “Pour fonctionner quand l’app est fermée” / “To work while the app is closed”, with the sentence that follows it;
- the review notes: the bullet about the closed app;
- the TestFlight text: step 2 of “What to test”;
- the closed-app clause of the 1.0 line on the What’s new pages and in
CHANGELOG.md, if you added it, and a line about the new start in the entry of the next version.
The pages above change on the same day, in the places that they name: the closed-app sentence of each goes, and the sentence that says that the app starts with no tap takes its place. The headline and the first paragraph of each page already say what the rider gets, and not how it comes, so they stay. The titles, the subtitle, the promotional text and the beta description do not name the notification, so they stay.
When the app changes, check these claims
Section titled “When the app changes, check these claims”The store text, the screenshots and the video must stay true to the app. After a change that touches one of these claims, check its guide, and edit the text of this page and the store in the same change.
